The BCP Hague Balance Correction Plate is designed to help cameras which are not centrally balanced. It simply screws onto the base of the camcorder either pointing forward or back or to the side. There are then several mounting holes in the plate, choose one to correct the balance and then secure to the mount.

Unfortunately not all camcorder manufacturers put the tripod mounting hole at the centre of balance on the camera, which means the camcorder could be front or back heavy, or the mounting hole could be offset to the side on the camcorder. Larger batteries or a wide angle lens will also affect balance. This can sometimes cause problems when the camera is mounted onto a support or tripod where it is preferred to have the camera equally balanced for stability. The Balance Correction Plate will correct this, it simply screws onto the base of the camcorder either pointing forward or back or to the side.
